Partner visas form the largest component of Australia's Family migration stream. For the 2026–27 program year, the Department of Home Affairs has published a Family stream planning level of 52,460 places.

How many Partner visas are planned for 2026–27?
The Department states that 41,500 Partner visas are estimated for planning purposes in 2026–27. It also identifies an estimated 3,500 Child visas within the Family stream.

Why the Partner visa number needs context
Partner and Child categories are demand driven. A planning estimate is therefore not the same thing as a simple annual cap on applications, and it should not be treated as a prediction of an individual application's processing time.
